HySpine
Development of a metal-free spinal implant
Pedicle screw systems are used to stabilize and correct the curvature of the spine. Titanium is now the standard material for these medical implants. However, there are some disadvantages associated with metallic implants. Examples include the formation of artifacts in medical imaging procedures (CT, MRI, X-rays) or the problem of reflection.
